Mentorship opportunity with graduate level safety course at Purdue University

Background:  HSCI 55300 – Advanced Safety Management and Culture is a required course in the Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences Masters degree program at Purdue.    The capstone project involves working with a local organization to provide safety-related advice.

The need:  An invitation for interested GLASC members to work with the students as they develop recommendations for the community partner.

Requirements: We are also partnering with Safety for Nonprofits (SN4P).  Any members working with on the project will need to register with SN4P as a volunteer and complete an online onboarding process (no charge).

Time commitment:  There is not a set time commitment.

  • I will try to arrange a facility tour at a time to accommodate schedules as much as possible.
  • You may correspond via email with the graduate students
  • You are welcome to meet with students and attend class (8:30am Fridays) if you would like.
  • The course ends in May, but we would like to periodically follow-up with our partners over a longer term.
